March 24, 2009 The first Hitch to be tagged ever! With the 2009 hitch migration now going strong in Adobe and Kelsey Creeks, McGinnis and Associates LLC along with staff from the Lake County Tribes has started the tagging project. This is the first time the Hitch have ever been tagged, the new RFID tags will provide information critical to estimating population and studying their life cycle. This project also includes water quality monitoring on many Clear Lake tributaries. We look forward to continuing to work with the Big Valley Rancheria, Elem Indian Colony, Habematolel Pomo of Upper Lake, Robinson Rancheria and Scotts Valley Band of Pomo Indians on this important project.
